Shay's passion for motivational coaching was ignited seven years ago when she began outreach efforts for the San Diego Community College District. She advised students on the college process and has continued to reach out to youth on a number of levels. She has spoken with youth groups at alternative schools, Youth Empowerment Day at USC, shelters, high schools, and middle schools. A highlight of her career was speaking on a panel for the Los Angeles film screening of I.O.U.S.A., a film about the national debt.
Who knew a little girl that was born into a family with emotional and physical abuse and grew up in foster care would be able to study anthropology and business management at CSU Dominguez Hills as an undergrad, continue her studies as a greaduate student at the University of North Texas, travel to more than seven countries, and share her love of financial literacy with the world!

The sale features new and good gently used books (especially children's and youth), videos, books on tape, and other forms of media. Prices range from .25-$5 and the sale is FREE and OPEN to the public.
All proceeds from the Book Sale are given to the Friends of Angeles Mesa Public Library to fund educational programs that promote literacy, cultural programs and activities for children, teens and adults.
