Forum on campaign finance reform (8-10 am)
(Los Angeles City Hall, Public Works Room, 3rd Floor )
Over the past decade, the city of Los Angeles has reviewed various scenarios for the public financing of city campaigns. But will the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission change the way campaigns are financed and further increase the role of money in elections?
Los Angeles City Councilman José Huizar will moderate a panel discussion called “Campaign Finance Reform: Where to Now?”
