Is Mass Incarceration the New Jim Crow? (7 p.m.)

Michelle Alexander, author of The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, explains what she calls a new racial caste system. Jim Crow laws may have been wiped off the books decades ago, but a large number of African Americans are unable to vote and are legally discriminated against in employment, housing, access to education and public benefits.
Parking is available under the museum. There is a $3 flat rate after 6 p.m.

Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services will host the Homecoming and Annual Meeting. The evening will feature stories from clients who have overcome challenges to preserve their homes or reach their goals of homeownership.
