Earth Day run raises awareness about water scarcity
It's Earth Week, and Melissa Etheridge teamed up with runners to raise awareness about water scarcity over the weekend in Exposition Park.
The Dow Live Run for Water brought hundreds of Southern Californian's out to run 6k--the average amount women and children have to walk just to get water. The distance is not just an inconvenience, it can be fatal. Many communities in the Third World rely on polluted water, making diarrhea the second leading killer among children worldwide.
But, it's not just a Third World issue. Melissa Etheridge had a message for everyone, encouraging them to do more than be aware of the crisis. Check out what Melissa Etheridge and runners had to say.
