Fox Theatre celebrates 61st birthday

Charlotte Price was a young mother when the Fox Theatre opened in Inglewood in 1949. While in attendance at the theatre's inaugural showing, she remembered seeing Shirley Temple, among several other celebrities.
At the Fox Theatre's 61st birthday celebration, Price was herself a celebrity, as she generously shared her recollections of the historic theatre.
And the theatre itself was the main attraction, as preservationists and Inglewood residents gathered not only to celebrate the Fox's glory days but to raise awareness about the efforts made toward resurrecting it to its former glory.
