Fans celebrate Lakers victory with parade

See and hear scenes from the crowd near the end of the parade route at USC:

Parade-goers lined the 2-mile route from the Staples Center to USC on Monday afternoon, craning their necks, climbing on shoulders and scaling trees or buildings to catch a glimpse of the victorious Lakers team.

Streets were shut down and police officers were out in force, but despite the heat and deafening noise level, the crowd, estimated at about 65,000, was mostly orderly. There were nine arrests for fighting and disturbing the peace.

The Lakers have promised to pay the costs of the parade, estimated at between $1.5 million and $2 million. Unlike last year's parade, this one had no rally at the end.
