The Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy offers camps, clinics and educational programs for participants starting at age five through high school.
Centered in Compton, a city that historically produces elite baseball talent, the Urban Youth Academy partners with surrounding school districts, community colleges, universities and youth organizations to provide coaching in athletics and personal development.
Damon Akins and his son, Corey, both credit the program for their own advancement both on and off the diamond.
