Jury selection for Inglewood Mayor Roosevelt Dorn, 74, continues at the criminal courts, in preparation for his trial for misappropriation of public funds and conflict of interest. Dorn is charged with a felony for obtaining a low-interest loan amounting to $500,000. If convicted, he faces four years and eight months in state prison.
Dorn was charged back in June of 2008, but his trial was postponed at the beginning of last year when the district attorney’s prosecutors had the trial judge removed from the case. Dorn entered a plea of "not guilty" last summer.
Dorn served as a judge for 18 years prior to his election as Inglewood mayor.
We'll have updates from the trial as soon as they become available. Check back soon.
