Police ask for help in finding hit-and-run driver
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking the public to help find the hit-and-run motorist who seriously injuring two girls as they crossed a South Los Angeles street.The 14-year-old and her three-year-old niece were crossing Main Street at 43rd Street about 6 p.m. on December 28 when they were hit.
Police say the the driver was a woman, but that is the only description they have. The car is described as an older white two-door sedan with a brake light in the rear window area. It may have damage to the right front headlight area as a result of the collision.
Police released surveillance video of the victims and the car. They urge anyone with information on the case to call detectives Mapson or de Leon at (213) 972-1845; the Central Traffic Division watch commander, (213) 972-1853; or the 24-hour number (877) LAPD-24-7.
