Babe’s & Ricky’s Inn is the oldest blues bar in Los Angeles. It was founded in the 1950s in Watts. It moved to Central Avenue and when too many liquor stores came to that part of town, it moved again, this time to Leimert Boulevard and 43rd in Leimert Park. Mondays Babes & Rickys has an open mic with a soul food buffet. Matthew Richmond of Annenberg Radio News has the sounds of the blues in Leimert Park.
