The City of Compton this fall launched a campaign designed to upgrade municipal and school services and polish the city's image. The campaign began a few weeks ago in this city of 94,000 people, with volunteers painting houses in a city neighborhood.
But as Trishna Patel reports, residents are intent on improving a lot more than aesthetics.
